“Just a Kind Word or Two…” or – A Certificate of Appreciation! That’s how to start a new year 😍

We are so proud of Avraham Avrutsky, our very own staff member in Bayit Cham’s southern region branch, who received a certificate of appreciation last week in a moving ceremony! The event took place in Ashdod, initiated by a collaboration of the Ashdod Police Department, the Rehabilitation Basket Department, the National Insurance Institute and more. They chose Avraham as the award recipient in appreciation of his staunch activism in the field of mental health.

Avraham promotes the employment of people with mental health disabilities, is responsible for creating collaborations with potential employers in the south, directs the Ashdod mental health forum, initiates and promotes seminars in the community, offers workshops for the general public about accessing disability benefits, initiates and promotes partnerships between agencies that offer therapy and rehabilitation services, and in general, is so full of experience and knowledge that he has become the address everyone turns to for guidance: service recipients , employers, staff members, colleagues, and more.

Avraham is always willing to help. He works energetically with professionalism and always with a smile!

We are proud of you, Avraham, and thank you for all your wonderful work. We feel privileged to have you on our team!

Have a good and sweet New Year ❤️

Meet Elioz

When we handed a certificate of appreciation to his employer, Ronen Avivi, Elioz thought he deserved one, too – and he was right!

In response, Avrumi Schnek, Elioz’s vocational coach and director of the Tze’adim life coaching center (the general chooses to remain in the field), designed and presented an Outstanding Employee Certificate ❤️🏆 especially for him – not just to be nice, but because Elioz really deserves it!!

He has been working for the Barkol Tov Supermarket chain for many years with great dedication, loyalty and caring. He served in the army as a paratrooper until he had a mental health crisis. Since then, he has been with us, coping courageously and with great humility. Today Elioz manages the canned goods department after having served in various positions within the company and even assisted in the establishment of additional branches.

So he doesn’t deserve an award ceremony?? He certainly deserves it the most‼️

Great job Elioz, keep up the success and continue to move us👏👏👏

And as Avrumi says, in the future we will meet at his wedding😍🤞

Hop(e)Styling

This month, once again, we applaud the dear volunteers in the Hop(e)Styling program! This amazing program operates in collaboration with the Israeli Building Center, where participants, survivors of sexual trauma, study home styling and home design 💪🔥❤️

In addition to the fact that our amazing team – Dana, Roni and Chen – accompany and support the program participant, they also create partnerships with the community and invite guests who contribute and share their professional knowledge with the participants. This month, too, amazing guests arrived, completely voluntarily:

Inbar Adadi – manager of the IKEA Netanya branch and chief designer who revealed to us all the behind-the-scenes secrets 🤫

Tal Rimon Edelstein – fascinated us with a lecture on improving communication with those around us 🤝

Lior Globerson – welcomed us in her own home (!!) – designed just the way we like it 🤩

Tali Dvir – thanks to her we realized how many words are bottled up inside us and how liberating it is to just let them come out🙌

And the amazing lecturers of the Israeli Building Center who insisted on being part of our course, even though half of Israel’s building plans are waiting for them in their offices… Roni Piotro Cohen, Billi Granot and Rachel Sela😇

A huge thank you to you wonderful women 🙏we learned from you and enjoyed every moment❤️❤️❤️

Freedom for “Dror”❤️

This week the staff of Dror‘s Elad branch (Bayit Cham’s mental health clinic) went out for a team-building day full of positive energy😎

The staff includes psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, administrative workers and more, who are busy assisting clients throughout the year with great professionalism and dedication!!

So they went on a guided tour of the antiquities of Caesarea, combined with sources from the Gemara and the Midrash, with the wonderful guide Moshe Abuaziz! They visited the aqueduct, the Ralli Museums, Rabbi Akiva’s synagogue and more.

Of course, Shira Bar, the clinic’s director, did an outstanding job organizing the entire day, including the indulgent food…🍒🥪

As the sun was setting, Bayit Cham’s CEO Rabbi Munk, and Yisrael Gepner, the director of operations, surprised them and came to offer their appreciation and thanks. It was exciting💙

So after an intense year of hundreds of sessions of CBT, psychodynamic therapy, creative arts therapy, diagnoses and follow-up treatments, training for field workers and interns, ongoing staff training and guidance, they totally deserved to recharge their batteries with energy to carry on with their non-stop giving… We thank you and are proud of you, our dear staff 💛💙❤️

Benafsheinu and the National Insurance Institute’s Exciting, Significant Meeting💞

Representatives of NII’s Bnei Brak branch came to us for a day devoted to establishing disability rights for patients receiving care at Bayit Cham’s Benafsheinu treatment centers for survivors of sexual trauma.

NII workers actually set up an office with computer workstations that took 3 hours of work by 2 technicians with equipment including computers, printers, etc.

In addition, three workers – Elisheva, Liat and Orly – sat with the patients and helped them through the process from the initial stage of filling out claim forms for recognition of disability to entering them into their computers online. They also offered rehabilitation advice, guidance on the how to appeal in the event that satisfactory disability percentages were not received, and more.

They were attentive, sensitive and wonderful as they serviced 13 (!) people who have been avoiding submitting disability claims for a long time, despite the tremendous need for government recognition and rehabilitation services.

After they were done, they had to work on disassembling the equipment and transporting it back…

The welcome initiative was made with the help of Gitit Cohen, Beit Cham’s program development director, and Ofer Cohen, director of the Bnei Brak National Insurance branch. We thank Ofer and all the employees from National Insurance for their heart-warming, professional work that is not taken for granted and is of great importance to the rehabilitation and treatment processes of our patients.

Moreover, they expressed willingness to do it on a quarterly basis!

It’s good that there are good people in the world 🙏❤️
