Helplines
Everyone has times when he needs a listening ear…
In the course of your life, whether you are temporarily facing an emotional challenge or you are coping with an ongoing mental health issue, there may be times when you need immediate support – someone who will listen to you right this minute and will give you the strength to move on to the next challenge.
You may also sometimes seek important information in order to make a wise decision for the immediate future. You can try picking up the phone to schedule an appointment for a doctor or psychologist, but you will often be placed at the end of a waiting list that is too long for your need right now.
__________
At Bayit Cham, we are constantly coming up with more and varied ways to provide you with support and guidance. This way, we hope that even at peak hours or times that would be difficult for you to reach an available source of help, you always have who to turn to: we invite you to take advantage of our unique professional services.
The helpline is staffed by mental health professionals who have been especially trained for this purpose. There’s a counseling line for men called “Attentive Ear” and another one for women – “From Heart to Heart”.
The staff that mans the helpline will be happy to answer all of your questions or requests for help with professionalism and empathy.
Each request is dealt with, giving special attention to sensitivity to spare the caller feelings of shame or fear that their privacy will be compromised.
After a helpline conversation, the caller will have received the support, security and information that he needs.

A unique service that we offer at Bayit Cham is to provide guidance to community rabbis.
As is well known, among the Torah-observant public, the rabbi is a significant community figure. People consult with him on various issues and rely on his judgment. For this reason, we saw fit to create a service especially for rabbis who are faced with many questions on mental health and abuse issues. Not always do they know how to appropriately respond to specific situations or to whom to refer when necessary.
The services include lecture series for those serving on rabbinical courts, private seminars for rabbis and a helpline for individual guidance for specific challenges that need timely responses.
