The Benafsheinu Treatment Center

Bayit Cham established the Benafsheinu Treatment Center in 2013 in order to provide professional treatment for adult victims of sexual abuse, ages 18+ from the Orthodox sector. It is one of the six largest centers in Israel that treat PTSD resulting from sexual assault. It is unique in its provision of culturally sensitive treatment adapted to the needs of the religious sector.

Benafsheinu also serves as an information center and provides training and guidance in the field of sexual trauma – prevention, identification and treatment. It will soon begin clinical research.

The center is staffed by a team of top professionals: LCSWs who specialize in sexual trauma treatment and an expert psychiatrist who provides treatment when needed.

The Center is supervised and partially funded by Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and is supported by Yedidut Toronto.

Benafsheinu treatment includes:

  • Specialized psychotherapeutic treatment for trauma;
  • Psychiatric medication when necessary;
  • DBT and dissociation group therapy;
  • Family and marital interventions;
  • Art therapy;
  • Clinical day activity

Treatment is provided at no cost, upon approval of the welfare department.

Benafsheinu operates in four branches: Bnei Brak, Elad, Modi’in Illit and Beitar Illit.
