The Elad Clinic staff took some time to recharge together! 😎

While change in therapy isn’t exactly magic,

our fantastic therapists work wonders all year round. This week, they set out to create a bit of magic for themselves ❤️

Along the way, they indulged in a delicious meal and enjoyed some fun team-building activities 🤩

To help others, we must first take care of our therapists! And they truly deserve it…

Thank you for all you do! 🙏❤️

The Power of a Hug

“He took my…” “He hit me…” “She pulled my…” “Get off the couch!” “Stop with the ball!” “I’m bored…” “Can I invite a friend?” “Can we order pizza?” “I’m hungry.” “I spilled my juice.” “Pick up all these toys!” “Stop bothering him.” And on and on… Sound familiar? We have a different solution for you… a hug!

A hug has healing, calming powers. During a hug, “happiness hormones” like dopamine and oxytocin are released, improving our mood and bringing serenity. Hugging is evolutionary, like a mother embracing her baby – that warm touch is designed to envelop, protect, and give a sense of security.

So even though summer vacation is in full swing, and sometimes things can get a bit crazy, try to pause, take a deep breath, look your child in the eyes with love, and give them a long hug (: It might help them calm down and become more relaxed and fun, much more than anger or scolding would.

In general, it’s good to hug and be hugged because a hug is a source of warmth, love, empathy, and a feeling of peace. It’s a message that “I’m here for you,” even in the midst of a storm. Plus, it’s free! 🤪

And if you have kids who don’t like hugs or touch? Don’t give up on them. You can hug them without physical contact by telling them you love them and you’re there for them. Keep offering hugs from time to time—they might change their minds. 😍

And don’t forget about yourselves! Ask for a hug when you need one to calm down too. ❤️

Some Good News from the Professional Training Unit

The second cohort of therapists training in ‘Trauma, Emergency, and Loss’ is already in full swing, and the feedback is heartwarming ❤️

“Thank you🌹!! Today was so beautiful. I sat riveted, and time flew by almost without notice🙃…”

“Even now, halfway through the training, I want to express my gratitude for the investment, dedication, and professionalism.”

“It’s noticeable how everyone who comes is highly skilled/specializing in their field, which gives me, as a therapist, exposure to a wide range of perspectives, populations, and principles.”

“Tal is so empathetic and supportive, while also conveying such complex content in an impressive manner.”

“Every presenter you brought was worth not missing a single minute. 🙏

“This training is excellent and highly recommended. Each instructor is professional and knows how to deliver material clearly and systematically! I’m enjoying every session!”

“We couldn’t have asked for anything more high-quality, organized, tailored, professional, and abundant. We’re truly fortunate🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

  • From the phone of Faigy Luterman – Director of the Professional Training Unit at Bayit Cham, and there’s plenty more…

So we, too, are fortunate! Both in having the incredible Faigy, and in gaining dozens more excellent therapists who will join our ranks and provide much-needed trauma-focused treatment to those in need across Israel.

Good tidings and have a great week, everyone!

Am Yisrael Chai🇸🇻❤️
