In a festive ceremony, the Zusman-JDC Prize was presented to Rabbi Arie Munk, CEO of Bayit Cham

“This year’s winner is Rabbi Arie Munk, CEO of Bayit Cham – an organization that promotes integration of ultra-Orthodox people with mental health challenges in society… The award winners bring to the fore original, innovative and groundbreaking thinking, for the most vulnerable populations in Israeli society.”
The above quote was said at the Zusman-Joint award ceremony for excellence in the development of social services in Israel, and appears in the article.
We’re so proud, and the honor is all ours‼️

Malka Ariel O.B.M.

This past Shabbat, Malka Ariel, a veteran employee at Bayit Cham, passed away.
Our dear Malka worked at Bayit Cham for more than 10 years with great dedication. She was an energetic, warm, professional woman. She started her career in our vocational rehabilitation department, helping clients cope at work and, later on, directed the training and mentoring of dozens of social work students doing field work at Bayit Cham. In the past two years, she also guided families and conducted workshops at the Techelet Center in Haifa, as part of the professional team helping parents, spouses and siblings cope with family members who struggle with mental illness.
In every role she filled, she displayed love and faith in each and every person’s ability to succeed despite the challenges; she reflected the good in everyone and helped them discover their strengths.
Beloved, dear Malka, there is no doubt that you left your mark with your giving and kindness. We will miss you very much 😞.
We share in the deep sorrow of all the members of your beloved family and community.
Rest in peace.
May her memory be for a blessing.

Treatment from the heart ❤️

This week all the ‘Lev la’Mishpacha’ therapists gathered for a staff meeting and fascinating professional training in collaboration with the Child Services department of Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs.
This new Bayit Cham service offers professional treatment regarding the issue of adoption to people who have been adopted, to the adoptive families and to the biological families. The goal is to process the experiences, feelings and thoughts that can sometimes be difficult, if not traumatic. Even when the adoption experience is good, there are often questions and doubts that nest in the heart of the person and his family, such as the issue of identity, opening the adoption file and more. It is necessary to process these emotions and achieve a sense of relief and the ability to deal with the complexities. For the therapists on this journey, there is enormous importance and significance to the success of the process by facilitating in-depth dynamic therapy and dyadic family therapy.
The staff meeting and training session with the Child Services experts dealt with these three aspects of treatment (the adoptee, the biological and the adoptive family), discussed the complexities, challenges and the relevant therapeutic tools. Participants were mesmerized and strengthened as they gained professional expertise.

The service operates throughout Israel.

There is Hope in Styling💕

This week, Bayit Cham’s groundbreaking program ‘Hop(e) Styling’ has officially begun in a festive inauguration ceremony, in welcome collaboration with the Israel Building Center and, of course, the National Insurance Institute (a.k.a. Bituach Leumi) and the Rehabilitation Basket (benefits) department.
This unique program for women survivors of sexual trauma offers styling and home design courses with the best lecturers from Ultima College affiliated with the Israel Building Center, along with individual and group support from Bayit Cham professionals to ensure the success of the process. The program’s goal is to prepare the women for the world of work and for optimal integration at employment in this field.
The program operates in Netanya, in Ultima College’s luxurious complex. Last Sunday, the course participants joined the exciting grand opening ceremony along with the program’s directors as well as representatives from program collaborators. Among the speakers who congratulated the crowd were Bayit Cham CEO Rabbi Arie Munk, Eran Rolls – Chairman of the Israel Building Center, and more.
Participants also shared their heartfelt emotions and the tremendous excitement was palpable❤️
In the current spring season of renewal, this is one of the most exciting new blossoms, if not THE most…!
We wish everyone a successful and meaningful journey❤️

Did you ever get to know Noam?

Noam appeared in the news, not in the most pleasant piece… (but there is a happy ending!)
Noam is a charming young man with ASD (autistic spectrum disorder), served in the IDF, studied computer technology and currently receives vocational rehabilitation services at Bayit Cham. Before that, he had worked at a diamond factory and at Geokom Ltd.
In January, early one morning, Noam was on his way to shop at a local grocery when he was brutally beaten, stabbed and robbed… He had been wearing headphones so he didn’t hear the assailant creeping up behind him. A neighbor heard Noam’s screams and quickly ran over to provide first aid and call the police. After being treated at the hospital and discharged, Noam was interviewed by several TV networks, among them, Reshet 13 with Matan Hodorov. After sharing his harrowing experience, he mentioned that he was looking for a job in the field of computers, and it worked! The whole incident turned out to be a blessing in disguise… Tamir Sasi, CEO at Exsitu Cloud IT Services, heard the story and invited him for a job interview 🤩 Noam landed the job and since February, he has been working at the high-tech company full-time, with all the accompanying benefits and, best of all, with lots of personal satisfaction! This type of work is definitely a move towards complete freedom!
Noam displayed extraordinary coping skills, courage and openness deserving of praise, both in how he dealt with the attack and in his day-to-day dealings. We are proud of you Noam‼️🏆 Keep climbing up the ladder of success❤️
