Bayit Cham’s BeNafsheinu Center treating survivors of sexual trauma from religious backgrounds launched the new complementary therapeutic space in an exciting event that took place this past Monday.
This is good news because until now, no such program existed, adapted to the needs of this sector. Sexual trauma is complex and difficult. The professional individualized care provided at the Benafsheinu center enables the processing of trauma, relief from agonizing pain and the return to everyday life. The new therapeutic space is in addition to individual therapy allowing therapeutic space for groups. It provides room for non-verbal expression together with other victims who constitute a mirror of eye-opening introspection and understanding. Among the groups: art therapy, movement therapy, music therapy, DBT, somatic therapy and more. Each patient can choose the right treatment for him/herself together with his/her personal therapist.
The event was attended by senior representatives and partners from Israel’s Ministry of Welfare, the Bnei Brak Municipality, Bayit Cham’s director and administration, BeNafsheinu’s and the new center’s wonderful directors and, of course, the devoted professional staff who do such amazing and crucial work.
The program included riveting lectures and delicious refreshments…
We wish everyone the best of luck and much success in this important endeavor!!!
